Choose a working surface, not a bigger processor badge

Choose the 11-inch M5 iPad Pro when its smaller physical arrangement suits the work you actually do. Choose the 13-inch when the larger built-in surface is useful enough to justify its greater dimensions and carried mass. Both named Apple UK references use tandem OLED Ultra Retina XDR displays with ProMotion adaptive refresh rates from 10 Hz to 120 Hz. The diagonal alone is not evidence that the larger model runs the same application faster.

The 11-inch reference has 2420 × 1668 pixels, while the 13-inch has 2752 × 2064; both are listed at 264 ppi. The larger model supplies more native pixels at the same stated density. Whether that produces a useful extra working pane depends on the application, scaling and layout. Try a representative drawing, score or document rather than interpreting the pixel count as a guaranteed workspace or comfort measurement.

Storage selection also changes the listed chip configuration

On both sizes, Apple specifies a 9-core CPU and 12 GB RAM for the 256 GB and 512 GB storage tiers. The 1 TB and 2 TB tiers have a 10-core CPU and 16 GB RAM. Consequently, two M5 Pro tablets with different storage capacities are not identical chip-and-memory references. Keep the full tier with any performance claim you read; a result from the larger-memory configuration cannot automatically describe the entry tier.

That does not establish that every reader needs the highest tier. Start with the actual application’s requirements, project size and offline storage needs. We have not benchmarked your drawing, video or music workload. Do not purchase extra storage solely because a sales comparison silently bundled its memory or CPU difference into a claim about screen size.

Input equipment must match the exact generation and size

Both checked sizes support Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil USB-C. A historical first-generation Pencil photograph is therefore identification context, not an accessory to carry forward by assumption. The same discipline applies to a keyboard: the current Pro keyboard must support the exact size and generation. An old 12.9-inch Pro case, an Air case and a current 13-inch Pro keyboard are not interchangeable because their labels sound similar.

The historical keyboard photograph below does not establish a present fit. Check the manufacturer compatibility list and the proposed supported working position. A case keyboard can add screen support and a trackpad, while a separate keyboard may need an independent stand. Account for the resulting surface footprint and carried equipment, particularly when the larger tablet will be used on a small desk or while travelling.

The UK basket is more than the bare tablet

The quoted Wi-Fi tablet masses differ by 135 g. The 13-inch is 31.9 mm taller and 38 mm wider. These are arithmetic differences between manufacturer device specifications, not measurements with keyboard cases installed. A complete carried kit must include the selected input equipment and protection. The mass tool can add verified component values; a hypothetical accessory allowance must not be presented as an actual product weight.

Apple’s UK M5 Pro box-content list checked for this guide names the iPad Pro and the polishing cloth for the nano-texture option; it does not list the charging cable or power adapter shown in some overseas box lists. Confirm the actual UK order rather than importing an unboxing from another country. A Pencil and keyboard are additional purchase checks. No current price, availability or delivery comparison is claimed here. Finish with one saved record of size, storage tier, connectivity, supported input equipment and local seller conditions, so the two shortlisted arrangements remain genuinely comparable.
