Framework laptop choices: compare the exact Pro platform and included parts
Compare Framework Laptop13 Pro Intel Core Ultra Series3 and AMD Ryzen AI 300 references, with real memory-format and storage differences rather than universal parts compatibility.

Two real Pro platforms with different component requirements
Compare Framework Laptop 13 Pro with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 against Framework Laptop 13 Pro with AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series when the ability to select and service components matters to your purchase. Framework’s current product FAQ describes both platforms with a 74 Wh battery, a 2.8K touchscreen and a haptic touchpad. Those shared features do not make the internal memory and storage specifications interchangeable.
The Intel Pro platform uses LPCAMM2 LPDDR5X memory and supports M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 storage. The AMD Pro platform uses DDR5-5600 memory and M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 storage. Choose the platform from its complete supported parts and software arrangement; do not assume that an existing memory module fits a different platform just because both computers have the same Pro family name. We have not measured a performance or battery-life winner.
| Framework Laptop13 Pro reference | Intel Core Ultra Series3 | AMD Ryzen AI 300 |
|---|---|---|
| Memory format | LPCAMM2 LPDDR5X | DDR5-5600 |
| M.2 storage format | 2280 PCIe 5.0 support | 2280 PCIe 4.0 support |

A reusable part needs a specific compatibility answer
Start by identifying the part already owned, including its physical format, generation and full model number. The historical DDR4 SO-DIMM photograph is deliberately a counterexample: it does not become suitable for either named Pro platform because removable memory is part of Framework’s product philosophy. LPCAMM2 and SO-DIMM are different formats, and DDR4 must not be substituted for a DDR5 requirement.
The SSD photograph likewise illustrates a physical component rather than a blanket approved-parts list. Its label and form factor are useful identification evidence, but they do not prove every proposed capacity, firmware or operating-system combination. Use Framework’s exact compatibility information for the proposed system or ask support before assigning an existing part a saving in the basket. This buying guide does not demonstrate internal installation work.

Distinguish a complete computer from a DIY basket
Framework offers pre-built and DIY routes. Compare what the exact UK configuration includes rather than comparing only the headline chassis price. A DIY selection may require separate memory, storage, operating-system provision and the chosen expansion cards; the actual configurator determines the included items. Conversely, do not add the same item again if it is already part of the selected bundle. Keep each included component and each additional purchase on the same budget record.
The current FAQ lists Windows 11 Pro or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS choices for its pre-built Intel configurations. That is a manufacturer offering, not proof that every specialist application, peripheral or extension works under either operating system. If a required program is Windows-only, or a peripheral depends on a particular driver, verify that route before treating an operating-system choice as a saving.
Expansion cards still require an end-to-end plan
List the connections needed at the same time: charging, a display, storage and any receiver or network adapter. Then select the documented expansion-card arrangement for the exact platform. An illustrated USB-C receptacle or another computer’s USB-C socket does not establish every feature at every expansion position. Read the host and card requirements together; count the complete connection path rather than the number of openings visible in a photograph.
A 74 Wh battery is an energy-capacity specification, not a promise of 74 hours or any fixed runtime. Framework publishes manufacturer tests with particular workloads; our guide has not reproduced them. A comparison of real carried arrangements must also include the selected charger, case and necessary accessories. We have not verified today’s UK price, shipping batch, stock, tax-inclusive final basket or warranty extension cost. Finish by saving the exact UK configuration and local terms, with the selected platform and included parts kept together, so that a later quote remains comparable.
